The beautiful Parkroyal on Pickering is a five star hotel in Singapore. It has become an iconic feature of the Singapore skyline and won numerous sustainability awards due to its unique garden in a building concept. The rooms are modern and comfortable and the food at its signature Lime restaurant has great variety and quality. The beautiful Parkroyal on Pickering is a recommended alternative to the more famous Fullerton Hotel for visitors to Singapore who wish to stay in style.
Flossie’s rating:★★★★★
I stayed at the Parkroyal on Pickering for a week. My double room with ensuite was beautifully arranged with all the luxuries you would expect from quality hotel including complimentary shampoo, conditioner, comb, shaving kit, body wash, moisturiser, soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, shoe polish and vanity kit, which were replenished daily. The bathroom facilities were modern with a high-pressure glass shower, toilet cubicle and vanity with beauty mirror at the entrance to the room.
Whilst there was a mini bar available, the hotel provided two complimentary carafes of spring water each day as well as a selection of teas and filter coffee to drink in the room. The television had all the major news channels such as Bloomberg and BBC, and there was also an ironing board and hairdryer available. The bed was comfortable (although could have been softer) and the sheets were not too tightly tucked in.

But it was the view that made the difference. From outside my window I could see Clark Quay as well as the unique garden design of the hotel. From afar the Parkroyal on Pickering looks like it is a living garden and it boasts more than 15,000 square metres of lush greenery. The hotel also employs sustainable practices such as the use of solar power, rain harvesting to reduce water consumption, and light, motion and rain sensors to reduce the usage of resources.

On level 4 of the hotel guests can enjoy a pleasant walk amid the many plants, including the herb garden. There are also spa and gym facilities on this level and the chance to swim in the infinity pool as you take in the views. During the evening, this level transforms into a funky bar area and people sit in the giant birdcages to enjoy their beverages and the cool atmosphere.

Lime is the hotels signature restaurant located on the Ground Floor, which has a fantastic buffet breakfast. A range of breakfast options from around the world is on offer from Japanese and Chinese cuisines to popular European foods. At the start of the buffet you have your pastries, croissants and breads with a selection of hams, cheeses and spreads. Further on there is the hot Asian counter that includes Indian curries, Chinese dumplings and oriental soup. The next hot food counter has scrambled and boiled eggs, sausages and bacon. And then there is the fresh fruit and cereal counter, where you can also get a freshly squeezed orange juice made to order. But my favourite was the Japanese food buffet in the centre that had sticky rice, chicken katsu and salmon teriyaki.

The location is fantastic and the beautiful Parkroyal on Pickering is situated at the entrance to China Town and a 10 minute walk from the Central Business District. There are many attractions and places of interest to visit that are close by to the hotel and it is a short walk to the Clark Quay MRT station. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the beautiful Parkroyal on Pickering and would rank it as one of the best hotel experiences I have enjoyed in my life.
